The Social Stock Exchange (SSE) is the latest addition to the dynamic landscape of philanthropy and fundraising in India today, potentially providing Social Enterprises (Both Not for Profit organisations and For Profit Social Enterprises) a unique opportunity to raise resources. First Introduced by Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech 2019-20, this novel concept of SSE, in the near future, will be disrupting not only resource mobilisation for the social sector but also program delivery and impact standards within it.
After much anticipation, the development sector is at the precipice of actualization of SSE. The Securities and Exchange Board of India has laid out the framework on July 25, 2022 detailing the eligibility criteria for Social Enterprises for mobilising capital through SSE as well as the channels for eligible Social Enterprises for doing so.
As eco-system enablers, INDIAdonates and FMSF aim to facilitate discourses on the finer points of Social Stock Exchange, how it would operate and its implications and most importantly how the voluntary sector can best prepare to make use of this newest channel of raising resources to its fullest potential.

Dr. Sanjay Patra- A seasoned professional with a demonstrated history of working for more than three decades in the non-profit sector. Has been instrumental in building the capacities of Development Organizations in the area of Governance, Financial Management and Legal Compliances.
Mr. Sandeep Sharma has been serving the civil society in various leadership roles for nearly two decades. Development practitioner, author of several books and seasoned trainer, Sandeep works as the Director Programs at FMSF and is also one of the Co-Founder of INDIAdonates. He has been involved in several organizational development processes for various national and international organizations.
